  1. IP Address

    Internet address, numerical address indicate a particular computer on the network.

  2. Cookies

    Files contain informations of visitors in a website (for example, browser, date of latest connection...). For the first visit, the server records these informations in a text file on hard disk. When the visitor access again to the site, the server verifies the cookies and updates them.

  3. DNS

    DNS (Domain name system) is a system that allows to establish correspondences between IP addresses and the domain name, more generally, find an information from a domain name.

  4. Visit duration

    Time within the first and the last page view during a visit of a site.

  5. Visit frequency

    The frequency which users return on site within a month. The data help measure their fidelity.

  6. ISP (Internet Service Provider)

    An ISP (Internet service provider) is a company that provides individuals and other companies access to the Internet and other related services.

  7. Browser

    A browser is a software application for displaying Web pages, used to navigate the Web. Popular browsers are Firefox, Internet Explorer, Netscape and Opera.

  8. Counter

    The counter allow to measure the frequentation of a site. It's a simple code inserted in source code of the site tracked and it is displayed in a form of small image (visible or not).

  9. Audience measure

    Audience measure corresponds to frequentation analysis of the site. It allows to provide a great number of informations :
    Traffic : Pages views, visits, visitors, ...
    rigin : Search engines, search keys, ...
    Navigation : Entry pages, Exit pages, ...
    Internet users : localization, Navigator, Access provider, ...

  10. Monitoring

    It's a continous surveillance of online services availability . Its purpose is to alarm in real time to clients all encounted dysfunction or anormaly.

  11. New visitor

    The visitor who access to website for the first time.

  12. Domain name

    Name corresponding to an IP address of a computer on internet (for example : www.xyloo.com)

  13. Exit pages

    Pages from these visitors quit the site.

  14. Country

    Original Country of visitor. This information is identified by domain name.

  15. Entry pages

    The pages to be seen first by visitors when accessing in the site. Normally, it's the home page, but, in some cases, it may also be a URL entered directly by the visitors to access in a particular page.

  16. Referrer page

    URL for the Web page contain the link on which visitors click for reaching the site.

  17. Page views

    Number of pages displayed by user internet for a given site and for a given period.

  18. Ping

    A command that calls an IP address.

  19. Referrer

    Referrers are sites that send visits. They may be partners, yearbook, or sites having publicity. They help understand visitors' interests.

  20. Référencement

    Référencement is an ensemble of technics that allow to optimize the website contents in order to display them in the best position of search engine and yearbooks.

  21. Resolution

    The maximum number of pixels displayable on visitors screen.

  22. Colors

    The number of colors displayable on visitors screen.

  23. Return on investment (ROI)

    The return on investment (or ROI) calculates the ration between the turnover generated and the amount of marketing expenses. It allows bussiness sites to identify how much they can get from 1 euro invested.

  24. Conversion

    A Conversion occurs when a visitor takes an action that the Xyloo user deems valuable, according to his objectives of analysis.
    Example of conversions are: a successful completion of an order/purchase, the filling out of a form, the subscription to a mailing-list , etc

  25. Conversion point

    The Conversion point, or Conversion page, is the site page where a conversion action is successfully completed.
    Examples of Conversion points are: the thank you page for completing a form, the confirmation page for an online order and so on.

  26. Conversion rate

    The conversion rate in the Referrer Conversions report is different from the conversion rate used in the Campaign Conversions report.
    In the first case, the conversion rate is the ratio between the number of conversions and the number of visits generated by a specific referrer (conversions/visits).
    In the second case, the conversion rate is the ratio between the number of conversions and the number of clicks of the campaign (conversions/clicks).

  27. Visit

    Visit is the whole page views on the same site during the same session.

  28. Visitor

    Visitor is a internet user who executes many visits during a day but he/she is counted only one time.

  29. Unique visitor

    The number of different visitors who execute one or many visits during a month.
